Remembering Your Archē
Archē (ark-hay) is an Ancient Greek that means something in the vein of “beginning” or “source”.
An English word that uses archē as a root is archetype. Another is archaic. An archē comes before, leads, or makes it possible to follow.
As the mandala of our first breath, the birth chart is a personal archē that channels our presence of mind and soulful introspection, revitalizing the power and purpose of our actions and inspiring us into alignment with our destined selves.
Teaching
Arche’s flagship course offering, Initiate, explores the importance of the birth chart and natal timing cycles in selecting auspicious times for individuals — in other words, how to “root” elections in your natal chart.

Levanti also co-teaches a yearly class, STAR: An Orphic Initiation, with scholar and translator Kristin Mathis. Based on Mathis’s cutting edge translations of the Orphic Hymns, the class explores Orphic cosmology as a precursor and doorway into Hellenistic astrology. Writing
“The Astrology of Pokémon” appeared in the Aries 2023 Edition of The Mountain Astrologer, the world’s foremost astrology publication, which called the piece a “nostalgic romp.” You can read the article for free on astro.com.
“Soul Exalted: Orphic Roots of the Planetary Joys and Zodiacal Releasing” is a forthcoming article in the NCGR’s Annual Journal.
“Meaning and Magic in Ancient Greece’s Orphic Hymns” appeared in the spring 2024 edition of The Ingress, a quarterly publication of the New York chapter of the NCGR.
“Sensing the Planets with Color” appeared in WellBeing Astrology 2022, an Australian publication. The article advocates for a multisensory, synesthetic approach to color in astrological magic.
Background & Education
Drew was raised as a student in Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment. As a teen, he turned away from this, breaking with his family, and rejecting spirituality completely for a time.
While he would return to esoteric studies later, on his own terms, this temporary turn from spirituality to rationalism was an important test. Drew attended the University of Chicago and earned his Bachelor’s Degree, with Honors in 2018, focusing on the cultural anthropology of climate change and environmental consciousness. This education freed Drew to explore histories of science and the occult alongside social theories of storytelling.
Astrology found Drew near the end of college, paving his way back to an enchanted worldview. He hasn’t looked back.
Levanti earned certificates from Chris Brennan’s Hellenistic Astrology Course, the School of Traditional Astrology’s Horary Practitioner Course, and he is one of a handful of graduates from Austin Coppock’s Fundamentals of Astrology program, in which he now teaches regularly.
A major turning point for Drew was meeting and eventually collaborating with Kristin Mathis, who initiated him into deeper connection with the Orphic hymns and Ancient Greek religion. The two now teach a class on the hymns and Drew researches Ancient Greek cultural influence on Hellenistic astrology.
