Saturn & Ecology: 2-Part Series
These teachings explore how we can work with Saturn as an ecological presence, force, and entity with whom we can collaborate to build more life-sustaining and spirit-enriching worlds.
This offering includes two separate talks.
The Age of Urgency
This talk contemplates the role of Saturn and the Moon in our emotional experience of climate change & climate collapse. It is a collaboration with astrologer Michael J. Morris. We consider how the Moon and Saturn shape our relationship to existential danger & threat, as well as our sense of home and deep time.
Saturn: Chains, Bonds, Beloveds
In this talk, presented for the Astrological Association Conference 2022, Drew presents a vision of Saturn as magnetic & binding, pointing to what Saturn teaches us about the meaning of love. Saturn binds us not only to time, but to one another. The talk explores these ideas in a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary way—drawing on the castration myth, native mythologies and lifeways, and the archaeological realities of our time.
