All Practicum meetings will be recorded and held live at:

5:00-6:30 PM Pacific, every Thursday beginning January 18, concluding April 4

Topics dealt with each meeting are subject to change based on the needs of those who enroll. The schedule is sectioned in 4 parts:

Section 1: Review (January 18, January 25)

Our January sessions will be dedicated to reviewing our core approach to elections. These power-packed two weeks get everyone in class back up to speed, perfect for those of us who just need to brush up on the knowledge.

Section 2: Skill Training (February 1 - February 15)

Our early February time is a practice zone. We’ll be electing for the present, for ourselves, and possibly for each other! We’ll also explore uses of the chart of the moment.

Section 3: Skill Share (February 22 - March 7)

Subsequently we will focus on gaining new skills, including special electional techniques, mitigations, and house topic frameworks. We’ll dive into traditional texts and iron out our approach to elections for health, real estate, and relationships. Finally, we’ll spend time with the elections of ritual sacrifices and ceremony, elections for divination, and elections for travel.

Section 4: Presence & Synthesis (March 14 - April 4)

In the last section we continue our weekly practice of electing with the time at hand. By this point, elections are a tool you know how to use. You get it now. But is there more? More technique—sure. But what about more meaning? More synchronicity? More epiphany? How can these charts serve our process as much as our outcome? How do we hold electional information psychologically? Let’s ponder these and other questions as we continue our daily practices.

Who is the Initiate Practicum for?

It’s made for astrology students, practitioners & pros seeking to refine & enrich their practice of electional astrology.

How much prior knowledge is required?

A variety of levels will be present in the Practicum, but all enrollees should have a solid grasp of the foundations of astrology — planets, signs, houses, aspects. It’s great if you have experience with horary, though not at all essential.

Additionally, enrollees should have a basic understanding of electional technique. You don’t have to be confident in your abilities to enter. You just have to have some knowledge of the basics. There will be two weeks of review to start, so we will all get up to speed either way.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. They will be provided promptly and available continually.

I took another electional astrology course. Is the Practicum right for me?

Yes! This puts you in a great spot. The Practicum is about putting this knowledge into practice. It’s great if you’ve taken another astrology class on elections so you’re just that much more prepared to practice.

Is participation required on the live calls?

No. Not everyone will be able to attend every live session. Those who can make it are welcome to keep camera on or off. Spoken participation is occasionally requested and almost always welcome, but never required. It’s about doing what serves you and your learning best.

Are there any required texts for the Practicum?

No. All texts used in class will be provided digitally as excerpts. A list of recommended texts is available on request.

What platforms will we be using for class?

Our community platform host is Mighty Networks. Enrollees will get a link to join our network within 24 hours of registration. Our weekly meetings are held on zoom. The instructor is available via email.

Also, in doing elections in a daily way, it’s very important to not be stuck using astro.com (as great as it is). I recommend AstroGold for those looking to make an investment, especially the phone app, which is about $40. TimeNomad and TimePassages are popular options with a much lower cost.
